From Inspectah Deck's New Charlotte Office. . .

I strongly encourage you to find and read an article entitled "The Coming Evangelical Collapse" that is currently posted on the website of the Christian Science Monitor. The article is written by Michael Spencer. I'd love to know what you think.

It's funny you should post this. I read it a couple of days ago and have been digesting it steadily, ever since. We are doing a series of evening services for Lent, focusing on revival, and this Sunday I'm going to go over the article applying scripture during that service.
I feel pretty confident that his prognosis is right on and that makes me sad. I hate to see evangelicals drifting to the Catholic and Orthodox churches, but I also am saddened (sorry John and others) by the move toward house churches) It was an excellent, thought-provoking article.

I had this feeling, when I first read the article, of sadness...but honestly, I don't know if it would be a bad thing. I think the evangelical collapse is really just a culling of the sick and weak in the herd.

Good article but ironic and maybe a bit hypocritical in that he doesn't seem to either mention or, worse yet, factor in God. A word search reveals his article doesn't mention Jesus. Talking shop is all. The bride will find her way...
