This blog had three objectives when it began. We're down to two now - the first objective having been lately achieved. I mean, I only really began blogging in a desperate attempt to bring my affection for Lisa down out of the ether and construct some sort of ramshackle connection with her. That chasm has been spanned - God knoweth how! - and so this thing is left now with very little to accomplish. My second original objective was to encourage my family and friends in their blogging by maintaining one of my own - I love it when they post! The third objective was simply to have a ready wilderness in which I could cry out. And so. . .
Why do you suppose Mel Gibson will be buried for his recorded rantings while Alec Baldwin was forgiven his? I suspect it has to do with Gibson's absolutist Christian faith. Am I right? Come on - let's be above reproach out there fellow Christians and run the good race for His name's sake!

It is the spice of sanctimonious hipocrisy that is lending all of this heat to Gibson's stew.

You're right. Gibson demonstrated a lifestyle that did not agree with his confession, and now the director of The Passion is being judged more strictly than the Alec Baldwins of the world, and perhaps rightly so. What ethos did Balwdin betray after all? Satan grins. A cautionary tale for us all.

And thank you for demonstrating your faith in us as readers to distinguish which Lisa you mean without attaching your name to hers (permanent attachment of last name, however, I totally encourage for you two!). Not that she and I don't love that nickname thing...
I'd comment on Gibson--or Baldwin, but I'm surprised by neither, and it's tough to see past this log in my own eye. Thankfully I'm not subject to public scrutiny at that level.

Plus, you help me expand my vocabulary; such as the word Ether... never used it before, and if I ever heard it I'd probably think the person had a speech impediment. I'm not even be aware of my own ignorance! haha So Merriam-Webster's site gets many hits while reading your blog.
I've Never been an Alec fan. I actually didn't know that he did something wrong... just proves that whatever it was...you're right, it has been overlooked and forgotten.
